Three Elegies for flute, clarinet and piano

Otto Henry just completed a new edition of his Images Cinématique suite for flute and clarinet now freshly enhanced with a strong, lyric piano accompaniment. The three movement suite consists of gentle nostalgic tributes to classic movie stars: Tombeau de Carole Lombard, Memorie de M. Monroe and a colorful Carillion Fantastique de Lon Chaney. Originally composed in the ‘80s with a computer generated tape accompaniment, the new edition with piano has a new sweep and continuity. Based on pentatonic scales, the movements are tonal but with a different twist that creates a wistful, somber lyricism. Two of the movements, the Tombeau and Memorie are still available in their original form with a CD recording. The duration of the movements are 5’18”, 9’04” and 8’09”. Of medium difficulty and recital length (22’27”).
